NOT FEEDING THE BIRDS

There seems to be a certain irony here. I collected these bags to make bird feeders from (seeds, fat, oats), but instead am using them to protect my nectarines from the birds. In years gone by, I covered my dwarf tree with bird netting but tired of trying to save birds that got stuck. Am now loving flavoursome tree-ripened nectarines. Ann Kidd, Tasman
