It is so common to find yourself wanting to make a change with your health and fitness but finding it difficult to do so. You can be unsure where to start and doubt whether you can make the changes that will see you succeed.

These thoughts yo-yo around inside your head, and do you no good. They are overcomplicating things, delaying yourself from leading the life you deserve and let’s be honest, just wasting your time.

The secret is to take control of the moment in front of you. Not tomorrow, not next week and not another time when you feel more like it. The moment is right now. If you think like that, it is much easier to get started and then keep going.

Action breeds action, so by getting started and taking a small step in the right direction you are doing exactly what you need to do. It’s as simple as that. Because you are not embarking on something scary or unachievable, you are not committing to something huge – simply having a glass of water, making a healthy choice or doing a workout.

You won’t be perfect, you’ll learn as you go, but you will have started. You’ll therefore be miles ahead of where you would be if you hadn’t taken that first small step.

So, push that negativity and self-doubt out of your mind, stop procrastinating, and just do it.

You’ve got this, one moment or action at a time.
