Be Inspired by Artisans / The pursuit for the unique
In a world of mass-produced merchandise and factory-made items often with cookie cutter designs, it’s no wonder we crave uniqueness of a handmade item. Taryn Beech from Maree Hynes offers some inspiration.
With the increased popularity of artisanal and handmade products there is a growing movement to avoid buying these impersonal items. Drawn to the individual and unique, Maree Hynes Interiors have always stocked rare vintage or antique homewares. Most recently we have embraced earthenware and ceramics that have been handmade in a small village in the south of Morocco – an authentic range of Tamegroute earthenware crafted by family artisans working with manual pottery wheels and secret glaze recipes. With its raw and imperfect look, the end result appears as if it’s centuries old, exquisite in colour and pure beauty. No two pieces are the same!
Also in the range is hand-blown Moroccan glassware, carefully crafted using natural recycled glass, every piece unique in style and shape. The slight irregularities are part of the charm and proof of traditional craftsmanship.
By investing in unique homewares made by true craftsmen you can own a piece high in quality and truly authentic in design.
