Graham Norton is a man of many talents and novelist is certainly one of them. This story begins in 1987.

A small Irish community is preparing for the wedding of two young people – not long out of school and still part of the group of friends they grew up with. The night before the wedding they all head off to the beach but on the way home there is a car accident. Three survive and three are killed.

The community is in deep shock and Connor (the driver) feels the weight of the blame. He leaves home and after spending time in Liverpool and London he heads off to New

York. He becomes estranged from his family but finds the space to live openly and honestly as a gay man. A chance meeting in a bar brings the past back into his life and he goes home to Ireland to face his demons.

A very thought-provoking and enjoyable read.
