Rightfully proud of the offering they have, Shay and the Selwyn District Council are eagerly spreading the word about Ski Selwyn. ‘They are so much closer than you think,’ continues Shay. ‘We have six ski fields which offer uncrowded slopes, friendly Kiwi hospitality and the easiest access to some of the best backcountry skiing in the world,’ all just over an hour from Christchurch.
While many will know Porters Alpine Resort, there is also Temple Basin, Broken River, Mt Olympus, Craigieburn and Cheeseman. Each boast mixed terrain riding from beginner to advanced, ensuring there is something on offer for every member of the family, while their on-site cafés, bar facilities and snow schools ensure the amenity covers every need and want.
