Partners in Slime Belinda O’Keefe Scholastic NZ

If you love David Walliams, then you’ll love this book. Partners in Slime is an entertaining read full of annoying little sisters, a scary rollercoaster and one very sticky situation. It is set in New Zealand and includes lots of classic Kiwi language. It is brimming with laughout-loud moments and has a very unique storyline. I would definitely recommend it.

Takahē Trouble! Sally Sutton Scholastic NZ

Walter and Manaaki are curious teenage takahē keen for adventure, but when they escape from their predator-free home they get more than they bargained for! The quirky dialogue between the two birds is hilarious, and the illustrations depict the characters brilliantly. Inspired by a true story, Walter and Manaaki will capture the hearts of all who read their story!

The Memory Thief Leonie Agnew Penguin Random House

This is the story of Seth, a troll, who by day is a frozen statue, and by night roams the park to satisfy his hunger for human memories. Behind the park gates lives Stella, a human, who crosses paths with Seth, and the pair soon become friends. But when Stella asks Seth to help erase some of her dark memories, things go terribly wrong. If you like stories filled with mystery, adventure and sprinkled with a bit of magic, you’ll love this spellbinding junior novel!
