Congratulations!

At the NZ Golf Matters Conference in Christchurch recently Geraldine District Golf Club were awarded the prestigious title of NZ Golf Club of the Year. When presenting the award Golf NZ Chief Executive Dean Murphy commented, ‘This small rural club has just 200 members but punches way above its weight class. The club changed to a new board structure three years ago and has employed a club services manager. Since then, the club has become financially sustainable and has demonstrated to surrounding golf clubs that positive change and commercial growth are possible, even in a small town in the Aorangi region.’ A wonderful accolade and achievement.

The club is now a vibrant facility that encourages new participation and engages positively with the community. They run golf sessions with local primary schools and involve themselves with new initiatives including: She Loves Golf, Futures Events, Stay 2 Play 2 on Route 72 and its famed 9 & Wine Thursday afternoon.
