Small Miracles

It’s not often you get to read a book where the description is a flying nun and a group of religious sisters who win the lottery! But what a joy. I would describe this as a gentle read: nice and easy, and very heart-warming.
The Order of the Sisters of
Saint Philomena is going through a tough time. The convent building is in desperate need of urgent repairs, and the last three Sisters – Margaret, Bridget and Cecilia – have to face up to the fact that with no new recruits on the horizon they will have to sell up and leave their parish.
But matters take a turn when 90-year-old Sister Cecilia plays the National Lottery and wins £20,000. It proves to be the start of a series of small miracles which leads them to Italy and home again.
The three nuns are so delightful, it is a fun book which I thoroughly enjoyed.
