I’m a fan of Natasha Lester’s books and believe she’s one of the best historical fiction writers today. Her new book doesn’t disappoint – there is fashion, postwar Paris, spies and a little romance.

In 1943 New York, Alix St Pierre comes to the attention of the US Government and is recruited by an intelligence agency as a spy. She is sent to Switzerland where one of her tasks is to approach a Nazi who may or may not be able to help the Allied forces.

After the war Alix moves to Paris. But the ghosts of the war are never far away and when a figure from the past appears she knows she has to bring him to justice.
