Tim Roxborogh travelled to Malaita as a guest of the Solomon Islands Visitors Bureau. While Auki is not especially tourist-friendly, it is fine to pass through on the way to the gorgeous Langa Langa Lagoon. Serah’s Lagoon Hideaway offers rooms on stilts over the water and comes highly recommended (they provide snorkels too).
