Curtain Up on Broadway

The Katikati Mural Town Singers, under the directorsh­ip of Jeanette Hasell-Back and Te Aroha’s Community Choir, led by

John Mullon, have been hard at work preparing a new range of songs for their upcoming concerts to be held in both Te Aroha and Katikati.

This is their second collaborat­ion and many of you will remember the thunder and lightning flashing during the first concert, leaking church roof and the flood roaring through Katikati town.

The theme for these performanc­es will be ‘Songs From Stage and Screen’, which will feature well-known melodies from favourite musicals and movies, plus beautiful songs from more recent production­s

The guest artist for the Katikati performanc­e will be Hiro Kobayashi, director of the Katikati Concert Band, on trumpet, accompanie­d by Jeanette Hasell-Back.

The first event will be held in Senior Citizens Hall, Te Aroha on 22nd May at 2pm and 6.30 pm. $15 entry with children under 12 free.

The second will take place 29th May at 2pm at St Paul’s Presbyteri­an Church, Katikati. Tickets are $10 and children under 12 free.
