I have been Chair and a driving force behind the Maketū Ongatoro Wetland Society since 2009, I am founder and Chair of Bay Conservation Alliance which currently supports and promotes 24 community groups throughout the region. Looking after the natural environment has been my key focus for the past decade and more. If elected I would be a voice for that natural environment on council. Social, economic and infrastructure issues are important, but the natural environment provides what we need to survive, if we fail to nurture it, we will pay the price.
The impact of climate change is obvious, the role of Regional Council, as a guardian of the natural environment, is vital. I believe that I can provide that committed and expert advice and counsel to ensure that your Council will be able to provide improved environmental outcomes, cleaner rivers, more wetlands, pest free forests, happier communities.

I’ve worked as CEO of the Tauranga Chamber of Commerce and in senior management in Tauranga City Council. I want this region to have well considered plans for the management of water, land-use and in response to climate change so our communities can have clarity and confidence for their future.
Developed with today's communities, for the benefit of future generations.
A product of rural Hawkes Bay, then Massey University and a Wellington based career, before ten years in the Bay. I live in Te Puke and have the opportunity and desire to give back. Previous strategic leadership across biosecurity, trade, the primary sectors, RMA advocacy, whole of catchment restoration, and business will bring real value on the Regional Council. Water management, land use, climate adaptation, biosecurity and resource management have been my professional focus for three decades.
My roles on school Establishment Boards (Taumata and Te Manawa o Papamoa) and as electorate chair for Todd Muller has built the governance experience a councillor requires. Informed, pragmatic, with vision.
