WESTERN BAY OF PLENTY DISTRICT COUNCIL – KATIKATI COMMUNITY BOARD
MAndy Earl y principal place of residence is in the Katikati Community Board area. Hi there.
I am Andy Earl. Born and raised in Katikati. Owned an insurance adviser business for 8 years and a sign business for 14.
Committee member of the rugby and sports club for 3 years. Lived in Rotorua for 15 years but came back here 3 years ago. I started Katikati area support local business to help businesses through those tricky times - ran the road page for 5 years.
I really would like to see local government and council progress our town and infrastructure into a “must see” destination and a progressive place for people to live and prosper in. Something I feel is being taken away. It'll be awesome to help you all.
Donna Hannah
My principal place of residence is in the Katikati Community Board area. I am also standing for Katikati-Waihī Beach Ward.
My name is Donna Hannah - I am openminded, an optimist, a reformed perfectionist, and self-motivated with leadership tendencies. Add to that a lifelong learner who has accumulated bachelor degrees, diplomas, and certificates but still enjoys learning.
My principal place of residence is in the Katikati Ward. I will be seeking election for the Katikati Community Board and the Katikati-Waihī Beach Ward.
My husband and I have five adult children who attended the local schools, and got their first jobs in local businesses. Our grandchildren will follow in their footsteps.
My top three priorities are youth, elderly and local business, because if all three are empowered our community will thrive. Change happens when perseverance and resilience overcome the obstacles of life. What and who make changes, he tangata, he tanagata, he tanagata! It is the people, it is the people, it is the people. We do! We make change together!
John Clements
My principal place of residence is in the Katikati Community Board area. I am also standing for Katikati-Waihī Beach Ward.
Katikati resident John Clements is a member of the Waihī Beach / Katikati Ward Community Board and it seeking election to the Community Board.
John believes the community board is a crucial part of localism and is the starting point for democracy. He will focus on vibrant communities and systems that encourage and facilitate local engagement.
John has had senior roles in large corporates and run his own business undertaking international consulting with the main focus on leadership and productivity. I have experience in creating pathways for education and strong communities and I believe this experience will benefit Western Bay of Plenty ratepayers. In recent years I have worked on the Community and Town Plan for Katikati and community endeavours to encourage economic growth. I believe I have the experience and leadership skills to look to the future and encourage democracy in the area while continuing to build strong communities.
Kamal Yadav
M y principal place of residence is in the Katikati Community Board area. My family has been living here in Katikati as ratepayers for over 16 years. Having known this beautiful home town for several year’s prompted me to put forward my name for this role. My business background is helpful for the community organisations achieving goals, also my community experience has given me a deep understanding of the Katikati community as a whole and made me think about issues that matter to local ratepayers - such as Roading, Rates, and future development of Katikati.
I'll work with others, to achieve the aspirations and vision for our town.
What do you think is the most pressing issue in the Western Bay district?
Youth is our future and their participation in building community is very critical for any town to flourish in right direction.
The second most important issue is the infrastructure and services offered here are very limited for this town to grow.
