A sneaky look at Te Manawa events

-

The team of sneaks is dressed warmly as they gather by the door, ready to head into the depths of the Te Manawa in search of the Mona Lisa.

“Okay, the guard’s not looking. Go, go!” their confidante urges, and off they rush, eager to meet the first of the challenges that stand between them and fame.

The Great Mona Lisa Heist took place in July, and there’s another one on Friday August 31.

In groups of five, visitors test their teamwork, problem-solving and dexterity while exploring some of the museum’s hidden areas.

On September 1, Te Manawa will ring with a different kind of challenge.

Te Manawa Overload brings the excitement of laser tag to the after-dark museum, its circuitous layout and wealth of obstacles making it an ideal venue.

There will be a wealth of good “camping” spots, so prospective competitors are advised to scout out the best ones in daylight, because when the lights go down it’ll be too late!

The final upcoming event is much more sedate.

On September 7, the second Da Vinci Desserts evening takes place. It combines the best of European sweet treats with a glass of bubbles and a relaxing stroll around The Secrets of Mona Lisa.
