Film festival

Colombian crime thriller Birds of Passage will open the 42nd film festival on August 23 and the Polish love story Cold War will close the event on September 9 during the New Zealand International Film Festival. Fifty two films from 21 countries are in the line-up of movies which includes documentaries by popular film makers as well as films for New Zealand’s Best 2018 short film competition.

Films will also screen for Nga¯ Whanaunga Ma¯ ori Pasifika Shorts 2018 competition. The screenings are at the Event Cinemas.
