Hospital access

Public access to Palmerston North Hospital’s Emergency Department (ED) will return to the regular entrance from 10am next Tuesday August 14.

From Tuesday morning the public is asked to use the entrance to the left of the main hospital entrance if they are wanting to access ED.

The entrance reconstruction of the entrance is part of a staged refurbishment of the ED that will include a more welcoming reception and waiting area, triage rooms to allow patients to be assessed in private, and improved facilities for relatives of critically ill patients.
