The New Zealand Army Band is re­turn­ing to en­ter­tain in Palmer­ston North’s Square for a lunchtime con­cert.

The band, which has an in­ter­na­tional rep­u­ta­tion for ver­sa­til­ity and in­no­va­tion is per­form­ing from 12 to 1pm on De­cem­ber 4.

With the in­cor­po­ra­tion of a rhythm sec­tion and vo­cal­ists, the band per­forms a wide range of gen­res in­clud­ing swing, jazz, pop and rock.

Last year, they had peo­ple up danc­ing and en­joy­ing a fun hour of en­ter­tain­ment in the mid­dle of the day.

This is a free event, so bring your lunch, a blan­ket or chair, and sun­screen.

Whole­grain Or­gan­ics is hold­ing an open day on Sun­day from 11.30am-4pm at their cafe on Broad­way and their Napier Rd farm. The pur­pose is to in­tro­duce them­selves to the com­mu­nity and to show what they do and why they do it.

Whole­grain Or­gan­ics is on Broad­way and will give pre­sen­ta­tions in the cafe at 12pm and 1.30pm.

They are open­ing their new pro­duc­tion kitchen/class­room up­stairs. A farm visit mini-bus shut­tle will leave the cafe at 1pm and 2.30pm for the farm at 230 Napier Rd.
