■ En­joy your lunch in The Square as you lis­ten to the NZ Army Band for an hour of free lunchtime en­ter­tain­ment on Tues­day 4 De­cem­ber from 12pm-1pm.

■ Get your all your Christ­mas gifts and fes­tive treats at the an­nual Magic of Christ­mas Night Mar­ket held again this year at Awa­puni Race­course on Tues­day 4 and Wed­nes­day 5 De­cem­ber from 3pm10pm. Whether you’re pe­rus­ing the 170 stalls, pre-or­der­ing your Christ­mas feast or just soak­ing up the at­mos­phere, the Magic of Christ­mas Night Mar­ket is the place to be to pre­pare for the “big day” in a re­laxed and beau­ti­ful en­vi­ron­ment. ■ What bet­ter way to get into the fes­tive spirit and give back this sea­son, than join­ing The Great NZ Santa Run/Walk on Wed­nes­day De­cem­ber 5 from 5pm with the run start­ing at 6.30pm. Take part to help fundraise for the Graeme Din­gle Foun­da­tion which works to build pos­i­tive child and youth de­vel­op­ment. Sign up for the 3km fun run/walk and you will get a Santa suit to wear too. It’s sure to be a jolly fun time!. ■ Head along to the big In­ter­na­tional Sprint­car Se­ries race for this sea­son on Thurs­day De­cem­ber 6 from 7pm. Spec­tac­u­lar speed­way ac­tion guar­an­teed when the 800 horse­power mon­sters take to the track at Robert­son Holden In­ter­na­tional Speed­way.

■ Ring in the fes­tive sea­son with your fam­ily and friends at Christ­mas at Cac­cia Birch on Fri­day De­cem­ber 7. The evening is jam-packed with Christ­mas en­ter­tain­ment for the whole fam­ily, with live mu­sic, face paint­ing, gi­ant games, a bouncy cas­tle, Screamer slide, food and lots of amaz­ing prizes.

■ Take a trip to Ash­hurst’s Christ­mas Pa­rade on Satur­day De­cem­ber 8 from 10am — 10.30am to cel­e­brate the Christ­mas sea­son. Get some Christ­mas shop­ping ticked off at the Church fair and com­mu­nity mar­ket. You might even get to see a cer­tain Mr Claus.

■ Feild­ing has its Christ­mas Pa­rade and Car­ni­val in the Town Square on Sun­day De­cem­ber 9 from 10am-4pm. There will be stalls ga­lore, bril­liant live en­ter­tain­ment and fam­ily-friendly fun.

■ Harry Pot­ter fans won’t want to miss Jemima Goes to Hog­warts on at The Globe Theatre from Mon­day 10 De­cem­ber. This Tall Pop­pies ju­nior pro­duc­tion tells the story of an or­di­nary Palmer­ston North girl go­ing to Hog­warts, en­coun­ter­ing her he­roes and do­ing the right things with­out ex­pect­ing fame.
