Dona­tions help fill up foster kids’ back­packs

Palmer­ston North Heart­land Lions Club com­mu­nity com­mit­tee or­gan­ised a col­lec­tion of new items to do­nate to Fos­ter­ing Kids Manawatu¯ .

The club pre­sented the dona­tions to Fos­ter­ing Kids Manawatu¯ co-or­di­na­tor Judy Wil­liams at an evening last week where Bliss Bees di­rec­tor Matt Telfer was guest speaker.

The items to be do­nated in­cluded py­ja­mas, T-shirts, tooth­brushes, sham­poo and other per­sonal items, socks, toys, pads, pen­cils, nap­pies and baby prod­ucts.

The club said the items will be put into back­packs and dis­trib­uted to foster chil­dren aged 0-16 years when they go to a new home.

Fos­ter­ing Kids Manawatu¯ co-or­di­na­tor Judy Wil­liams is seated cen­tre with mem­bers of the Palmer­ston North Heart­land Lions Club.
