Plumbing is in the DNA

The plumbing trade is in Mike Waitekamp’s DNA. Mike of Refined Plumbing and Gasfitting comes from a family of plumbers dating as far back as the early 1950s. His father set up his own plumbing business and eventually trained his four sons to all become successful tradesmen. In time they all became business owners themselves.

After a year’s sabbatical overseas in 2015 with his wife Joanne and their three children, and time away from the trade, the family decided to move to the Manawatu¯ .

Mike returned to what he knew and for two years worked as a certified plumber/ gasfitter for a local

plumber in the Feilding area. Mike once again set up as a sole trader with Joanne running the office.
