Flu jab programme

New Zealand’s flu immunisati­on programme has started. More than 1.2 million doses of flu vaccine have been distribute­d around the country to GPs, pharmacies and health clinics. Fiftyseven per cent of those 65 and over, who are most vulnerable to the impacts of the flu, are now vaccinated. Manawatu¯ -Whanganui has plenty of stock ready and available to protect residents, with more than 53,100 vaccines already distribute­d throughout the region. Kiwis who have not yet been given an appointmen­t for their Covid-19 vaccine are advised to get a flu jab now from their GP or pharmacist.
