The Factory sets up a new team

new team has been assembled at The Factory ahead of the departure of chief executive Dave Craig next month.

The Factory spans 10 years, firstly as marketing manager, and then chief executive since 2019. He establishe­d the region’s top innovation programme, Innovate, and was instrument­al in bringing The Lion Foundation Young Enterprise Scheme to the region.

While Craig is moving on to a new role in Manawatu¯, he will remain closely connected to The Factory as stakeholde­r, adviser, and angel investor.

The Factory is a business developmen­t, training and innovation hub in Palmerston North that works nationwide. It helps individual­s, startups and companies with new ideas begin the process of scaling and becoming community contributo­rs.

It is owned by the Bio Commerce Centre Trust.

The Factory’s general manager Nick Gain will step into the acting chief executive role. He has been part of the team for eight years.

Joining Gain are two new positions to bolster The Factory, Scott Haumaha as general manager startup and investment and Rachel O’Connor as general manager marketing and programmes.
