AMC’s ‘quiet toilers’ hard at work
Company ready to make move into residential market
AMC Electrical is sparking in new directions and that is great news for commercial and domestic customers wanting comfort and convenience.
The company has been in Palmerston North for more than five years and until now has been focusing on doing big contract jobs such as the new Countdown in Awapunui and New World in Feilding, and the electrical services refurbishment of the Refectory Building at Massey University.
Manawatu¯ branch manager Geoff France says AMC Electrical staff are quiet toilers, who have been working towards resourcing the branch so it can now undertake residential wiring and repairs, while continuing to service commercial clients.
AMC Electrical installs heat pumps and heat transfer systems, bathroom and kitchen ventilation, and energy efficient LED downlights. It has access to the top brands and the staff are qualified installers of these products.
AMC Electrical provides excellent workmanship, competitive pricing and installation advice. Its
goal is no return visits as everything was done right the first time.
Geoff has an extensive background in electrical contracting. He is a qualified refrigeration and air conditioning engineer as well as a qualified electrician and had his own company for 25 years.
The branch has two registered
electricians, one adult apprentice who is nearly qualified, and three young apprentices — two from Feilding High School and one from Manukura.
The company is proud of its community focus and the way it is helping young people. The apprentices are exceeding
expectations and will be leaders and role models in the industry, Geoff says.
AMC Electrical installs and services New Zealand-made Evnex electric vehicle chargers, which it has installed at Countdown Awapuni. These are reliable, efficient and have a great range for the home situation, Geoff says.
It also installs solar electric (PV) systems — off grid, grid-tied and combination. As the price of the solar panels and inverter units decreases, Geoff expects demand for their installation will increase significantly.
AMC Electrical’s directors had a vision back in 2001 of building an electrical company that would place the needs of customers first while offering employees the opportunity to work in an environment where their skills, hard work and dedication were respected and valued. That still applies today.
AMC Electrical is a member of Master Electricians.
