Rihanna lauded as fashion chameleon
Rihanna has been named Fashion Police’s style ‘‘ chameleon’’ of 2013.
The singer is known for constantly changing her looks and has even collaborated with British high- street brand River Island to design her own range.
E!’ s celebrity- style television show has said Rihanna takes the crown for the most exciting outfit changes of the year.
‘‘ What a great year 2013 was for her!’’ Joan Rivers said in a clip. ‘‘ I think she’s got style like nobody’s business – and international.’’
Co- host George Kotsiopoulos added: ‘‘ What’s great is that her street style and her red carpet style are very different but they live in the same world.
‘‘ She goes from hip- hop to 70s glam to ladies who lunch; she has all these looks and they all work together. She really knows how to wear clothes, put a look together and own it.’’
Rihanna, 25, has also sported a huge variety of hairstyles and colours over the past year.
Fashion Police’s Kelly Osbourne said she admired the star’s ability to pull off even the strangest haircuts.
‘‘ What is so remarkable about Rihanna is how she can so seamlessly go from street wear to couture to something that if most people wore it, it would look like a costume,’’ Osbourne said.
‘‘ But the fluidity of her outfits, from head to toe, is so cohesive; she just looks incredible at all times. She is one of the only girls in the world who can pull off a rat tail and still look amazing.’’
