Kapiti Landing forging ahead
Kapiti Landing business park is rolling out its $20 million second stage of development, including a cluster of about 15 cafes, bars, restaurants and a local farmers’ and produce market.
Since Sir Noel Robinson bought Paraparaumu Airport in 2006, it and the neighbouring business park have been upgraded as part of a 30-year, $450m development plan.
Air New Zealand flights to and from Auckland and Christchurch are now operating, and a Mega Mitre 10 store, New World supermarket, Smiths City and Kitchen & Things stores are established in the business park.
Resource consent has been granted for the further developments and construction is expected to start this year.
There are also plans for four large buildings and a three-storey information and communications technology centre.
Robinson said consultation was under way with key anchor tenants.
About two years ago Todd Property secured a 75 per cent shareholding in the airport and the business park.
Robinson, with a 25 per cent shareholding, has remained chairman of both.
