‘‘Palmiro regularly kept in contact with his family, so for him to go this long without any contact is not like him at all.’’ Detective Senior Sergeant Paul Baskett

Police say they are still investigating the disappearance of Palmiro Macdonald, who has not been sighted in seven months.

Macdonald, 36, will feature on Police Ten 7 on Thursday night, with police saying new information will be revealed about a case they have dubbed Operation Palm.

Macdonald was last seen in Levin on March 23, when he was seen travelling as passenger in a silver 1994 Mercedes Benz 320. The public has been asked about pieces of information since, including the actions of a group of people who assisted towing a Holden Commodore off Waitarere Beach in March.

A bach at Hokio Beach, where Macdonald was believed to have been living, was burned to the ground soon after he went missing.

Nomad gang sources have told Stuff Macdonald is dead, a casualty of a methamphetamine turf war.

Detective Senior Sergeant Paul Baskett said Macdonald’s disappearance was out of character. ‘‘Palmiro regularly kept in contact with his family, so for him to go this long without any contact is not like him at all.

‘‘Throughout the last six months, police staff have been tirelessly working to investigate exactly what has happened to Palmiro and are making good progress.

‘‘However, [tonights] show includes some new information which may be the key in helping us find Palmiro.’’

Police Ten 7 will screen on TV2 at 7.30pm on Thursday.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Operation Palm team on 0800 677 256, or provide information anonymously via the organisation Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
