Come-from-behind win for Linton over Young Ones

The Linton women’s team pulled off a remarkable comeback to beat the Young Ones 11-7 in the latest round of club softball at Colquhoun Park on Saturday.

In the first game of the day in perfect weather conditions, the Young Ones took a 6-3 lead after the second inning. But Linton came back scoring three run in the third inning to Young Ones’ one.

Linton then scored five more runs in the fourth inning to win the game 11-7. Linton’s top batter was Junita Maniapoto with three hits from three turns at bat.

Panthers scored an early run in the first inning and held it until the sixth, where Blue Sox scored two runs giving them the win.

Tre Wihongi was Panthers’ top batter with two hits from three turns at bat and for Blue Sox, Bryan Tairoa had two hits from three turns at bat.
