Linton women overcome Feilding in high-scoring match

The club softball competitio­n has reached the playoffs and in what was the game to watch in the women’s round, Linton powered past Feilding SPC 10-5 at Colquhoun Park on Saturday.

Feilding scored four runs in the first inning to Linton’s two, but it wasn’t to be for Feilding, as Linton proved too strong, scoring 10 runs in the second inning to Feilding’s one, including two home runs, one to Sequita Hemingway and the other to Danielle Mankonya.

Linton’s top batter was Sequita Hemingway with three safe hits from four turns at bat.

Feilding’s top batter was Emma Hansen, with two safe hits from four turns at bat.
