Bodies identified
Police have confirmed missing woman Tania Ellwood was one of those found dead at an Auckland boarding house. The bodies of Ellwood, 39, and 36-year-old Timothy Kerr Hamilton, from Auckland, were found at the Grey Lynn address on Tuesday. Police released their names on Thursday after completing an autopsy and formal identification process. Detective Senior Sergeant Glenn Baldwin said the pair were known to each other and police were not looking for anyone else in relation to the matter. ‘‘Police are investigating this matter and are still working to establish what has occurred at the address.’’
Death investigated
A 40-year-old man has been found dead in Lower Hutt, prompting a police investigation. Police said they were called to a house in the suburb of Wainuiomata about 11pm on Wednesday. By Thursday afternoon, they had cordoned off a large subdivision construction site at the northern end of Wise St, and officers were investigating the scene.
Accused named
A woman jointly charged with murdering Nelson woman Traceyanne Harris can now be named. Interim name suppression lapsed for Rose Morgan, 30, and she made no application for it to be continued at her appearance at the High Court at Nelson on Wednesday. Morgan has pleaded not guilty and elected trial by jury. She is jointly charged with murdering 43-year-old Harris, whose body was found in her Stoke home in 2016. Morgan also faces six charges of methamphetamine supply, one charge of offering to supply methamphetamine and two charges of supplying the drug GHB. Tyler Baillie, 26, is also charged with murder, and faces three charges of supplying class B drug gamma hydroxybutyrate (GHB), also known as fantasy. He pleaded not guilty and elected trial by jury earlier last month. The charges came in the wake of a two-year investigation into Harris’ death.
