❚ Hopefully the nurses in our public hospitals will receive the pay offer that is long overdue and well deserved. The registered nurses in private hospitals should now also expect to receive a pay increase as they are about 15 per cent behind the state nurses before any increase.

❚ Good to see the women’s rugby final given decent space in the Standard. And what a game.

❚ It’s about time this council took notice of its ratepayers, rather than advancing its own agenda.
