❚ Thoroughly enjoyed the regional sports coverage in Tuesday’s paper. Lampp, Heagney and Ellingham are getting the job done for Manawatu¯ readers. Keep up the good work.

❚ Really disappointed to see Naylor won the Horizons by-election. Did nothing for sustainable local environments as mayor or MP – remember that dumb stunt standing waist deep in the river to show how swimmable it was?

❚ Our street has new and old streetlights. Old ones produce a more natural light. New ones are bright, but harsh.

❚ Since the Turbos are not winning, shouldn’t the hot dogs get cheaper? Winston

❚ Anyone else sick of the ‘‘Jacinda and baby’’ show and wish she’d concentrate on New Zealand like she’s paid to do?

❚ Why do we not see ‘‘Be a proud Kiwi, buy New Zealand made’’ signs any more?

❚ If Ma¯ori claim indigenous status, so should all citizens of this country. All of our forefathers migrated here from elsewhere. The only things naturally indigenous were existing flora and fauna. Set the record straight, for God’s sake.

❚ Why didn’t Jacinda Ardern be responsible and stay at home and look after her baby and let her deputy represent her at the UN? Answer, she simply took the opportunity to push herself towards getting a full-time job at the UN following Helen Clark.
