Unusual run out in test

-

Pakistan batsman Azhar Ali was run out in unbelievable circumstances on the third day of the second test in Abu Dhabi. Ali, not out on 64, edged a Peter Siddle delivery fine of gully and took off up the pitch for a chat with nonstriker Asad Shafiq, thinking the ball was running safely for a boundary. Aussie bowler Mitchell Starc, nursing a tight hamstring, pursued the ball which had pulled up just inside the rope. Once Starc’s throw reached Tim Paine, the Australian captain whipped the bails off and celebrated the wicket. Pakistan gave themselves more than two days to win the series, declaring their second innings at 400-9 for an overall lead of 537 runs.
