A comedy homecoming
Rangitı¯kei comedian James ‘‘Hoppy’’ Hopkinson is bringing his musical and comedic talents back to Bulls.
Along with his good friend Stephanie Hedges, they began performing with Palmerston North’s Comedy Hub last year and have formed a comedic duo called No Strings Attached.
Fresh off of a successful show at the Palmy Fringe Festival last month, the comedians will perform at the Bulls Returned and Services Association on November 23.
They’re a catchy act with several songs on life, love and relationships.
The show will be headlined by two Christchurch comedians: Justin ‘‘Rusty’’ White and ‘‘Snap, presented by Rusewebsites’’.
White has more than 17 years of experience in comedy, producer Ben Caldwell says.
He is performing a national tour of his new show, The Thinking Person’s Idiot.
‘‘Rusty is a fantastic performer and he has dedicated himself to understanding and developing his craft,’’ Caldwell said.
Accompanying White is his tour manager and fellow comedian, Snap, who sold the rights to his last name a few years ago to a now defunct website.
‘‘Snap has been instrumental building the comedy scene in [Christchurch] over the past seven years. And he’s bloody funny in his own right, winning the title of best MC at the 2017 Christchurch Comedy Awards.’’
The lineup is rounded out by Feilding comedian Amberly Caldwell, joint winner of the best female comedian at last year’s Comedy Hub awards, and Justin Ngai of Palmerston North.
Tickets for the show, which has adult themes, are on sale from Bulls RSA.
