■ The Reserve bank has made life harder for all the people who rely on interest for income. No more cuts.

■ The All Blacks need bigger players. Those players who are going after the World Cup should not be picked. They have done their time. We need hungrier players.

■ If you look at other countries’ rugby teams, they have big forwards and backs now. That’s the way forward. We need to keep up with the times.

■ Voters in local elections, beware. Those candidates who stand under a party flag will have allegiance to something other than this city.

■ If an ad has to be made about how to make blasted porridge get real Scottish actors. The accents are cringe-making and insulting.

■ The UN has said the world will run out of food in the future. New Zealand is busy planting pine trees on farmland that will feed thousands of possums.

■ I’m not aware of any law requiring people to drive right up to the posted limited at all times to please immature drivers whose ability is usually less than they think. R1100 ■ Donate blood. Graham Henry encourages more people to take time to do this. Such a valuable gift to others. Izzy

■ When all NZ’S viable farmland is converted to forestry blocks, how are we going to keep up with export demand and feed our own people? Doesn’t seem like the govt has put much thought into the future of its people. Mary Karere
