Woman’s body in house ‘for some time’

-

The body of Porirua woman Kathleen Kawana had lain for ‘‘some time’’ in a property that had been vacant, police say. The 46-year-old’s body was found at a property in Ngarimu’s Hill, just south of the East Coast settlement, on Saturday, August 3 – almost a week and a half ago. Her body was discovered by buyers who had recently purchased the house and went to take a look at it, Detective Senior Sergeant Ben Quinn said. Police have not released the results of an autopsy – and her death continues to be treated as ‘‘unexplained’’. Kawana’s body has been returned to her family. Quinn also issued a request for information, including details of Kawana’s movements between Ruatoria and Porirua, to assist their investigation.
