Radiohead singer admits hypocrisy over flying
When Dame Emma Thompson was accused of hypocrisy for flying 8000km to a climate change protest, the actress argued plaintively that it was ‘‘very difficult to do my job without flying’’. A similar problem afflicts Thom Yorke, the Radiohead singer and Friends of the Earth activist, who takes a different approach to those who question his green credentials – he agrees with them. ‘‘The thing I’ve always struggled somewhat with is that if I’m campaigning on climate change, I’m someone who has to fly for my work, so, boom, I’m a hypocrite,’’ he said.
