■ There seems to be this idea that to be called a doctor makes somebody more entitled and thereforemore special than the next person. Everybody’s special. This blind reverence to medical practitioners is bizarre.

■ Dear Dennis: What it means for education is thatwilliam Wood’s teachers, one of whom is very close to you, have done an amazing job and fired his natural talent. JV

■ Shocked on news to see gin traps being used to trap possums! Thought they were outlawed as cruel years ago.

■ Budget. No extra super. 65+ keep tourism going during weekdays,

weekends are for the paid workers.

At the end of tax paid apprenticeships, they need to serve five years before taking overseas work.

Rugby coming back: Super rugby, likely no NPC (or whatever it’s called), and club rugby maybe, somehow. The RFC has it all wrong. I have given up on Super rugby, the class of rugby is good but the teams are almost all mercenaries who are after $$ or a better chance at an AB jersey. I want to watch and supportmy local team (go the Turbos!) not a bunch of ring-ins.

Women’s sport, like any sport, is good to watch but let’s be realistic as a business, women’s rugby and cricket doesn’t stack up and is being subsidised by themen’s competitions.

You are a victim of your own political ideology, Shane Elers. You are unable to write a balanced opinion piece because of it.

I refer to TV guide several times a day and found it easy to find when on the back of a section - good to have it there all the time!

We have 3 official languages in NZ, English, Ma¯ori and Sign. Why is the government giving $20 million of our taxes to promote Pacific Island languages?

Well done to Steve Elers for his enlightening opinion on Prime Minister Ardern and her socialistic views and aspirations. For those under the spell of her political spin, you now have time to reflect before the election in September. Nan
