Liberato Cacace has been recognised for his stellar A-league season with Wellington Phoenix, becoming the first Kiwi since Marco Rojas in 2013 to win the Harry Kewell medal at the PFA Players’ Awards. Cacace beat out fellow nominees, Phoenix team-mate Cameron Devlin and Adelaide United’s Riley Mcgree, to receive the honour bestowed to the top performing under-23 player in the A-league. The New Zealand internatio­nal was the standout player for the Phoenix in the 2019-20 season, helping the club achieve its highest-ever finish before earning amove to Belgian Pro League club Sint-truidense V.V.
