Man released on bail

Aman charged with a serious assault in Palmerston North has been released on bail. Ned Hala, 32, appeared in the city’s district court yesterday facing a charge of wounding with intent to injure over a one-punch assault on March 27. Among Hala’s bail conditions are a nightly curfew and one from 7pm on Fridays to 5am on Mondays, a prohibition on drinking alcohol and a ban on entering Palmerston North. Hala’s next appearance is in June.
