He couldn’t get no memoir satisfaction

-

Sir Mick Jagger may have brought enjoyment to millions and ecstasy to hundreds and been at the heart of some of the 20th century’s most stirring social changes, but reliving it all was ‘‘inordinately dull and upsetting’’. The Rolling Stones frontman has revealed the real reason he never finished his autobiography: he did not enjoy writing it. ‘‘There weren’t that many highs out of it,’’ he said yesterday ‘‘What I did not enjoy was reliving my life to the detriment of living in the now.’’ Jagger returned a reported £1 million advance by the publisher Lord Weidenfeld.
