Use of haka defended

A South African university rugby team is defending its use of the All Blacks haka after it was ridiculed for performing it this week. Walter Sisulu University, from East London, performed Kapa o Pango before their Varsity Shield match against Durban University of Technology at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria. A video of it went viral and prompted a backlash on social media. Team captain Litha Nkula explained their link to the All Blacks and said they were hugely respectful of New Zealand’s premier sporting team.
