■ With regards to closing bars at 2am I applaud the mayor for this position. At the moment early Saturday morning and Sunday morning it is mayhem with intoxicated people causing trouble. The people against it need to leave their computers and desks and go and have a look.

■ Murphy from council, wonder if he’s actually sat and seen how many cyclists [ride] along Pioneer Highway. None as I have done it . What a balls up.

■ War on tobacco, what about alcohol? Highly addictive dangerous, community-destroying drug!

■ Fantastic to see PNCC physically separate cyclists on Main St. Well done! Motorists in PN regard lines on roads as targets not barriers. Looking forward to seeing it

happen on College St.

■ What are the council drinking? Ignoring ratepayers’ comments, just going on with own agendas, pathetic bike boxes Pioneer Highway, roundabout Monrad St, how about fixing some footpaths, etc., with the money! WW

■ Obviously irrelevant to the current PN city councillors that the majority of its ratepayers don’t want a separate Ma¯ori ward seat. They’ll just push it through adopting the attitude of ‘to hell with those who voted us in’. Most of us will note carefully in order to not vote the guilty ones in next time around.

■ Can’t believe council think they could do a better job running Caccia Birch House. Keep out of it council!
