Win and a loss for Manukura Black in the sameweek

It was an up-and-down week for Manukura Black in the club competitio­n.

Manukura Black started the week with a 50-36 win over Manukura Red at Massey University on

Mondaymorn­ing, a game postponed from the week before.

But they were brought back to earth in round four of the club competitio­n at the Arena on Tuesday night, losing 50-43 to Ra¯hui.

There is one more week left of the first round and at the end of the round, the bottom team in the premier grade will play the top team in premier reserve to decide who qualifies for the premier grade second round.

Competitio­n leaders Massey A1 had yet another big win, beating Feilding A1 74-38.

In the premier reserve grade, top side Feilding Reserves beat their other club team Feilding A2 66-37, second-placed Massey A2 won 57-35 over Ra¯hui 2 and Massey Old Girls beat College Old Girls A2 52-46.

Standings:

Premier: Massey A1 16, Ra¯hui 12, COG A1 9, Feilding A1 8, Manukura Black 4, Manukura Red 1.

Premier reserve: Feilding Reserves 16, Massey A2 12, Massey OG 12, Feilding A2 8, COG A2 1,

Ra¯hui 2 0.
