College Old Girls too good for Manukura Black
College Old Girls A1 have moved into third place on the table after a 56-31 win over Manukura Black.
College are only a win behind the top two sides after the win at the Arena on Tuesday night and have carried on their good formfrom the first round.
There are twomore weeks of the second round, and then there is a third round of regular season before the playoffs. Unlike after the first round, the points won’t reset and there is no promotion-relegation game with a team from the premier reserve grade.
Manukura Black haven’t won a game in the second round.
Unbeaten competition leaders Massey A1 won 79-37 against Feilding A1. Massey have dominated everyone this season and have looked strong so far. Feilding are yet to win a game in the second round.
Ra¯hui maintained second place with a 61-46 win over Manukura Red,
who are fourth.
In the premier reserve competition, top side Feilding Reserves had another win, beating sister side Feilding A2 75-39. The A2s are fourth.
Massey Old Girls are third after a 52-41 win over College Old Girls A2,
who are without a win.
Second-placed Massey A2 won 57-38 against Ra¯hui 2, who are winless in the second round.
There is also the Betty Steffensen rep tournament tomorrow, where 39 teams from across the lower North Island will be in action at Vautier Park.
Manawatu¯ has teams entered in the under-18, under-16 and under-14 grades.
The first round is at 9am and last round at 2.20pm.
