Logging truck rolls

A logging truck has rolled in rural Tararua, blocking one lane of traffic. Emergency services were called to Weber Rd in Waitahora, about 15 kilometres east of Dannevirke, after a logging truck and trailer had rolled just before 6am yesterday. A police spokesman said no-one was injured in the incident, but the northbound lane was blocked between Waitahora Valley and Lys roads. Firefighters from Dannevirke helped police with traffic control, Fire and Emergency spokeswoman Karen Mcdonald said. The trucking company was organising the recovery of the vehicle and its logs, a Tararua District Council spokeswoman said. Tararua Alliance had a crew onsite managing traffic. The road was shut intermittently during the day to remove logs and the truck and trailer.
