Three new active cases
There are no community cases of Covid-19 and four border-related cases in managed isolation, one of which was historical.
The three new active imported cases were in addition to the nine previously reported cases aboard the Mattina ship quarantined off the coast of Bluff.
Two of the new cases arrived on direct flights from Fiji on July 17 and were picked up during routine testing and through contact tracing in isolation in Auckland, the third case travelled from Ghana via the United Arab Emirates on July 20 and was confirmed positive on day zero in MIQ in Auckland.
Since official cases were counted, the ministry had confirmed two more cases aboard the Mattina. These would be added to today’s tally.
The three remaining crew tested negative.
