Pedestrian killed by bus in Auckland

Police are investigating after a pedestrianwas killed by a bus in Auckland on Tuesday night. The death occurred at 11.10pm in Pakuranga, and a serious crash unit attended the scene. Stuff understands the crash occurred at the intersection between Gossamer Drive and Ti Rakau Drive. The intersection has traffic lights. Auckland Transport confirmed to Stuff that one of its contractorswas operating the bus. ‘‘Any death on Auckland’s roads is an absolute tragedy andwe are working closely with our bus operator to support the police investigation into this incident. Our bus operator is supporting the bus driver involved, who is off duty while investigations continue,’’ an AT spokesperson said.
