Richarlison faces probe
Everton forward Richarlison de Andrade is to be investigated by the Football Association for throwing a flare during the Premier League club’s home win over Chelsea.
The Brazilian picked up the blue flare after it was thrown on the Goodison Park pitch following his goal in a 1-0 win yesterday.
English newspaper reports stated Richarlison threw the flare at the Gwladys St end of the stand.
No action was taken by referee Kevin Friend, but news outlets reported that the Football Association will investigate the incident.
An Everton spokesperson said in a statement that the club would ‘‘look into the matter, but as far we are concerned, Richarlison was attempting to throw it out of the ground’’.
