Nikorima to leave

Kodi Nikorima has likely played his last game for the Warriors, having completed a medical for the Rabbitohs yesterday.

Although the 28-year-old Nikorima hasn’t yet been released from his Warriors contract, it is all agreed for him to go. He was having a medical in Brisbane yesterday and the Warriors are happy to grant him an early release, rather than keep him on their books for the rest of the season.

Nikorima hasn’t made the impact at the Warriors it was hoped he’d provide and has often been accused of going missing in games.

Nikorima’s departure would mean the Warriors are short in the halves for a few weeks, until Chanel Harris-tavita recovers from his ruptured testicle.

Getting Nikorima off the books this year helps the Warriors with their salary cap for 2023.
