Kennedy to be key envoy
The US Senate has voted to confirmCaroline
daughter of former president John F Kennedy, to serve as ambassador to Australia, as President Joe Biden’s Administration looks to fill out its diplomatic team with key allies in the Indo-Pacific. Kennedy has extensive experience in the region, serving as US ambassador to Japan from 2013-17, during Barack Obama’s presidency. The newambassador to South Korea will be Philip Goldberg, a career member of the Senior Foreign Service and current ambassador to Colombia.
